The pool will be CLOSED for lettings from after Thursday 20th July (final Session) until after the school holidays. (You might have thought they'd keep it open to recoup some of their lost earnings while it was closed for a long period this year - Obviously self financing with limited opening!)
Re-opening week commencing 4th September (obviously subject to the usual pump failures, heating issues etc.)

The school have informed us that the pool will be out of action until after Easter…
Apparently they are having difficulty sourcing parts for the pumps that have packed up (perhaps they’ve been running “too hot” - just a thought!)
They suggest planning for it being out of action at least until Tuesday 11th April 2023

University of Birmingham 2nd Masters Meet - Sat 13th May
The UoB Swimming Club Inaugural Masters Open Meet will take place on the 13 May 2023 in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
(not sure how the 2nd one can
be the "Inaugural"!)
Summary of event:
25m, short course open meet
All strokes 50m and 100m races
200m Freestyle and IM
Mixed 4 x 50m freestyle and
medley relays.

The 2023 Staffs Masters will take place on
Saturday 15th April 2023 at Stafford Leisure Centre.
Open to all Masters that have a Swim England Club Compete (Cat 2) membership.
You do not have to be a member of a Staffordshire club to enter.
There are NO qualification times to enter.

We have been informed by the school that Lettings will be as normal during Half-Term holiday, Easter Holidays and Strike days. Except for the actual Bank Holidays for Easter, May BH and Kings Coronation BH.
So the Pool will be open as normal for training except for the Bank Holiday Mondays.
We have had the times confirmed and this year we will be running the gala on Saturday 11th February 2pm-9pm for the 50m, 100m and 200m events and Sunday 10am-2pm for the 400m IM and 800m Freestyle.

As the new year approaches it is the time our thoughts turn to renewals.
Swim England have issued their fee table for next year as below
(Fees for every swimmer due to Swim England always consist of the sum of National, Regional and County fees)
Club Fees will slightly increase to £23 for the year. £23 for 2023 - see what we did there! Non-swimming Club Officials etc. remains at £5
So the fees due in January for the various categories and payable to the Club will be...
Club Compete: £62 - Members who compete for CHESC at any point during the year, including relays
Club Train: £41.50 - those members who only train and have no intention of competing in the year (Why Not?)
Club Support: £14 - Non-swimming members who represent the club on committee etc.
Club Membership Only: £23 - those swimmers who register and pay fees to Swim England through another Swimming Club
Friends of the Club: £5 - Non-swimming members with no Swim England association who just "support" the Club
Training Fees will remain static at £4 per session (payable by Bank Transfer of £40 for 10 sessions) despite a major hike in pool rental charges being imposed by the school - the club will absorb these for the time being.
A new/renewal membership form has been released which all members must complete for the 2023 year
